Modern Kites

Kites

These aren’t just for the beach! Learn how modern kites are designed and constructed using advanced materials. Stunt kites, kiteboarding, and even kite photography will be discussed. Ages 14+. Parent/guardian must be continuously present for attendees under 18.

Time: July 17, 1:00PM-4:00PM

Location: Hacksburg; 1872 Pratt Drive Suite 1620. Park and enter at the back of the building. Might go outside depending on weather.

Cost: Free for Hacksburg members, $5 for non-members.

Hacksburg is Blacksburg's first community makerspace. We're graciously hosted by the Virginia Tech Corporate Research Center at 1872 Pratt Drive, Suite 1620.

To get in, first try going around to the back and knocking on the double doors. Someone will come around to let you in.

Makerspaces (also known as hackerspaces) are community-oriented workshops where people share physical and intellectual resources. Hacksburg is a place to collaborate, a place to learn, and a place to work on projects that you might not be able to work on at home.
