Wood Lathe Candlesticks - New Class!
On Sunday, November 13th we’ll be hosting a new class, Wood Lathe Candlesticks! Learn the basics of woodturning! This class will cover the tools and techniques of using a wood lathe. Attendees will make their own candlesticks in time for the holiday season. Wood will be provided.

Cider Making Weekend
It’s Cidermaking weekend at Hacksburg!
On Sunday, October 23th we’ll be hosting our 8th Annual Hacksburg Cider Making Event. Bring your own apples and containers and join us to make your own fresh squeezed apple cider. Click here for more information about cidermaking and what to bring! Cider making is free!
Free tours of the new Hacksburg community workshop will also be offered.
Hacksburg is a makerspace. Makerspaces are community spaces with tools and people who love to create and tinker with everything from electronics, wood, metal, sewing to home brew! Come check out our community of makers.

Natural Dyeing 101 - New Class!
Learn the basics of dyeing fabric using walnut shells! This class covers how to process the walnuts, what fabrics work best, and best practices for using this sustainable material. Attendees should bring cotton or wool in a neutral color. Attendees are also encouraged to bring black walnuts, if they have them. Ages 12+. Free for Hacksburg members, $5 for non-members.

Welding 101 - New Machine!
Welding allows artists, engineers, and makers of all kinds to fabricate strong structures out of metal. This class will cover the new Hacksburg TIG welder for usage with steel. Attendees will practice on scrap steel, using TIG and stick welding techniques. Ages 16+, wear long pants with no synthetic fibers.

Modern Kites
These aren’t just for the beach! Learn how modern kites are designed and constructed using advanced materials. Stunt kites, kiteboarding, and even kite photography will be discussed. Ages 14+. Parent/guardian must be continuously present for attendees under 18.
